WHAT FRIENDS ARE WORKING ON
We formed Friends of the Abbeydale Picture House in 2003 so that we could restore and reopen the Abbeydale as a unique community venue for performing arts and visual media, theatre, live music, and once again, cinema.
Since then we've achieved quite a lot!
 we bought the building
opened Palin's Bar (Michael Palin is one of our patrons)
established the Picture House Youth Theatre Group who meet on Wednesday evenings and perform on our stage two or three times each year
provided a home to the 'Wednesday Club' - a group of Sheffield craftsmen who come together to produce props and scenery for productions across the city, as well as contributing to the renovation
we're used as a venue for art classes for local residents
hosted live concerts for bands, dance groups, choirs, theatrical productions for local theatre groups & seen the return of films.
But we want to do a lot more, and to do it we need a little help from our Friends. Just £1 a month from you will make a difference - and if you tick the 'Gift Aid' box you'll be helping us even more! So by sending us your £12 annual subscription you'll be helping to preserve one of the city's finest buildings.
