We are very grateful to the University Of Sheffield and the School of Architecture for carrying out a 'Live Project' at the Abbeydale Picture House.
The objective of this project was to draw up a suitable and finacially viable refurbishment design for the future of the building, and also to provide the Trust with a visual package to present to Funding Agencies.
The project was highly sucessful and the results of the students work was displayed at an exhibition held in the City Centre.
The drawings are now on display in the Foyer at the Abbeydale.
To familiarize themselves with the managerial running of the venue and to gain first hand practical knowledge, the project team, bravely, decided to stage a Fund Raising Event.
This went ahead on November 7th and was an enormous sucess - 'Man with a Movie Camera' plus 'In the Nursery' & 'The Everly Pregnant Brothers' ukelele band raised over £1,500 for our restoration fund.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Russell Light Course Coordinator and the whole of the Live Project Team for all their hard work and we trust that this will be the start of a continuous link with the University of Sheffield
