7/11/09: Silent Film helps to Raise the Rafters
Silent Film helps to Raise the Rafters

The first silent film screened at the Abbeydale Picture House in over 70 years was a truely great experience. A showing of 'Man with a Movie Camera' accompanied live by local musicians 'In the Nursery' gave film buffs an afternoon to remember. A 'Full House' were entranced by this very rare and atmospheric event.
The afternoon ended with an appearance by 'The Everly Pregnant Brothers' a wonderful group of Musicians who base their act on 'dry wit and ukeleles' ~ their renditions of well known songs given a 'Sheffield' slant was very popular with our audience

This event was arranged for Abbeydale Picture House by the 'Live Project' Team from The University of Sheffield School of Architecture. All the artists donated their time free and all the proceeds went to the Restoration Fund.

Special thanks to Rachael,Ben O, Tom, Matt, Ben and Russell
